Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a senior privacy/legal leader within its Legal Management function. The role focuses on privacy, data protection, compliance with HIPAA and state/federal privacy laws, and advisory support to business leaders across the enterprise.

You will oversee data privacy programs, review DPAs, collaborate with IT security, and guide cross-functional teams on privacy matters, including incident response and regulatory inquiries, while supporting M&A activities.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of privacy/legal experience.
• Juris Doctorate required.
• Bar license in Ohio or active license elsewhere.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA and privacy laws.

Responsibilities

• Advise on privacy and data protection for business leaders and counsel.
• Review DPAs, data privacy agreements and related provisions.
• Lead incident response and data breach reporting processes.
• Collaborate with IT security on privacy compliance programs.
• Provide practical privacy guidance to cross-functional teams on complex projects.
• Support regulatory inquiries and investigations related to privacy.
• Review policies to ensure privacy compliance.
• Stay updated on privacy laws at state, federal and international levels.
• Support privacy aspects of acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures.
