Cardinal Health seeks an experienced privacy leader within Legal Management to advise on privacy and data security, review agreements, and guide incident response. You will work with business leaders, counsel, and IT teams to ensure compliance with HIPAA, state privacy laws, and GDPR where applicable.

The role emphasizes risk assessment, strategic oversight, and collaborative problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Applicants should have JD, bar license, and extensive privacy knowledge.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience in legal/privacy roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• Juris Doctorate degree required.
• License to practice law in Ohio or active bar license in another state.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. privacy and cybersecurity laws, including HIPAA and state privacy laws.
• Knowledge of international privacy laws such as GDPR (preferred).
• Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
• Solution- and results-oriented with ability to prioritize and deliver initiatives.
• Ability to assess legal and business risks quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise on privacy and data security across the organization.
• Review and negotiate data privacy agreements and related provisions.
• Guide incident response and data breach reporting processes.
• Coordinate with IT Security to align privacy and security programs.
• Translate privacy requirements for cross-functional teams on complex projects.
• Assist with regulatory inquiries and investigations related to privacy and data security.
• Review policies to ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws.
