Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking an experienced Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, and AI Associate to join our national practice. With 3–6 years of relevant experience, you will take ownership of significant client workstreams across privacy, cybersecurity, and AI matters and collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams.

The role involves advising on GDPR/CCPA, building compliance programs, managing consumer rights requests, and contributing to AI governance initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years advising on data privacy, cybersecurity or AI matters at a law firm, in‑house, or government.
• Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, US state privacy laws, and emerging AI laws is required or strongly preferred.
• Experience with incident response, AI governance, or privacy in transactions is a plus.
• Certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or AIGP are preferred.
• Familiarity with generative AI legal research platforms and their appropriate use.

Responsibilities

• Provide privacy, cybersecurity, and AI counseling and strategy for clients.
• Develop and operationalize privacy and cybersecurity programs, notices, and DPIAs.
• Handle consumer rights requests and incident response planning and testing.
• Advise on AI governance programs and deployment of AI tools in regulated contexts.
• Assist with privacy aspects of M&A, financings, and technology transactions.
• Support regulatory inquiries and engagements with state and federal regulators.
