Job summary

The Preconstruction Manager at Mavin Construction serves as a strategic leader guiding early planning, budgeting, and design decisions from concept to turnover. This role leads all estimating and preconstruction efforts, collaborates with project teams, clients, and trade partners, and drives innovative workflows to improve cost control, schedule adherence, and project quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager, Pre-Con Manager or Estimator.
• Proficiency with industry software for project management, scheduling, estimating, takeoff and BIM.
• Must have reliable transportation to job sites.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to lead clients in cost decisions without always relying on subcontractors.
• Lead technology advancement and internal workflows for takeoff, estimating, bid invites, modeling and clash detection.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage preconstruction estimating and budgeting processes.
• Develop conceptual budgets and detailed cost estimates.
• Coordinate with clients, designers, and contractors in early planning.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals.
• Lead value engineering and cost optimization efforts.
• Oversee design meetings and municipal coordination.
• Build and improve internal preconstruction workflows and tools.
• Provide regular updates on workload and opportunity pipeline.
