Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Preconstruction Manager in Southeast Michigan to lead estimating and preconstruction from concept through GMP. You will partner with operations and business development to price risk and hand off projects smoothly.

The role offers collaboration with ownership, a strong backlog, local projects, and minimal travel. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in preconstruction/estimating across commercial, industrial, healthcare, or institutional sectors.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in preconstruction and/or estimating.
• Background with a general contractor or construction manager
• Experience across commercial, industrial, healthcare, or institutional projects
• Strong understanding of conceptual estimating and GMP development
• Ability to lead, communicate, and build trust with internal teams and trade partners

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle preconstruction and estimating efforts
• Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates
• Manage subcontractor outreach, scope review, and leveling
• Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews
• Collaborate with operations during project transition
• Support client presentations and preconstruction meetings
