Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP is a leading Am Law 200 law firm with over 500 attorneys across 40 offices. We seek a Practice Manager in Atlanta to drive business management and operational execution for assigned practice sections and offices.

The role acts as the primary business advisor, translating firm strategy into day‑to‑day operations, coordinating planning, staffing, budgets, and performance reporting. Strong leadership and cross‑functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; law degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Prior law firm or professional services operations experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of practice management, staffing, budgeting, reporting, and cross-functional coordination.
• Proven ability to work with attorneys, practice/office leaders, admin departments, and firm leadership.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with Litify, Aderant, Upfront, Intapp or related law firm tech is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary business advisor and liaison to assigned practice sections and offices.
• Coordinate business planning activities and support section goals and initiatives.
• Review new matters and advise on staffing and assignments.
• Monitor workload, utilization, and capacity; recommend resource adjustments.
• Oversee matter budget compliance and performance reporting.
• Prepare and review financial and operational reports for sections and offices.
• Coordinate with departments to support practice objectives.
• Collaborate with client relations to align matter management with client expectations.
• Support onboarding and integration of new hires with stakeholders.
