Job summary

Cheney Brothers is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to coordinate suppliers, negotiate price and quantity terms, and establish long-term contracts to ensure a steady supply of high-quality products for Foodservice Distribution at competitive prices.

You will maintain service levels for in-stock product, assist with special orders, and work as part of a team to support the company and its customers through responsive sourcing, cost optimization, and strong vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• Purchasing or related experience.
• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Select vendors based on continuous supply, service level, and market conditions.
• Maintain relationships with vendors by resolving invoicing, product or delivery issues.
• Negotiate prices and quantities ordered based on orders and market conditions.
• Negotiate long-term contracts to ensure ongoing supply.
• Coordinate with distribution centers for emergency supply needs.
• Provide product and pricing information to sales and advise on pricing structures.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with company policies.
