Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Irving, TX seeks a Portfolio Operations & Governance Lead to drive the portfolio operating system and governance records, coordinating with RTE, TPMs, Finance, and delivery teams to connect governance to roadmap and execution.

You will manage risk, issues, dependencies, and actions, ensure timely closure, and maintain governance calendars and evidence across Atlas and the CI portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience operating PMO, portfolio, or governance in a complex tech environment.
• Strong records management for decisions, actions, risks, and evidence.
• Ability to prepare and run senior leadership forums without excess bureaucracy.
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, Power BI, SharePoint or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate risk, issue, dependency, action, decision and reconciliation registers with clear ownership and status.
• Prepare Portfolio forums with inputs, questions, evidence, attendees, and escalation paths.
• Record decisions and actions, publish outcomes, and track closure.
• Monitor aging items, overdue checkpoints, and missing owners; escalate where needed.
• Maintain controlled Portfolio documents, version history, and traceability.
• Support Portfolio Operating Model by maintaining calendars, checklists, artifacts, and compliance evidence.
• Coordinate with RTE, TPMs, Product, Architecture, Finance, Reporting, and delivery teams to link governance to roadmap.
• Ensure data quality and reporting traceability for executive statements.
• Identify recurring process failures and help implement simple, repeatable controls.
