Job summary

SEIU Local 105 is seeking a full-time Political & Community Coordinator to strengthen internal political integration and expand municipal and community relationships within the Denver Metro area. The role requires navigating complex political environments and representing the local in municipal spaces.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in political, labor, or community organizing work.
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining political relationships.
• Strong political judgment and ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Ability to convene and coordinate across departments and roles.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to motivate, influence, and hold others accountable.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Convene and facilitate regular cross-department political coordination meetings
• Ensure political priorities, timelines, and strategies are understood across departments
• Translate political strategy into department-specific actions
• Represent SEIU Local 105 in municipal and community political spaces
• Build and maintain relationships with municipal officials, candidates, and power brokers
• Track municipal election calendars, appointments, vacancies, and local political opportunities
• Coordinate municipal endorsement processes aligned with organizational strategy
• Support legislative and issue-based political work as assigned
• Translate state-level developments into municipal implications
• Participate in union-wide events and organizational priorities
