The Department of Economic Security (DES) seeks a Policy Manager to join the Division of Developmental Disabilities in Phoenix. You will lead policy development, research regulations, and train staff on policy documents, ensuring accuracy and readability.

The role emphasizes collaboration with leadership and cross‑state partners to advance supportive services for Arizonans. Responsibilities include directing policy projects, maintaining documentation, and coordinating public comment processes.

Qualifications

• Writing and editing highly technical material; research and comprehension of regulatory requirements; communicating complex issues clearly.
• Effective project management and interpersonal skills for coordinating teams.
• Experience leading policy-related documents and staff training.

Responsibilities

• Research state and federal policies; edit procedures, manuals, and standard work; train staff on policy documents.
• Oversee internal projects affecting policies; maintain knowledge checks and site postings.
• Coordinate with SORS and DDD Policy Team on public comment requirements; manage document flow.
• Communicate updates to staff; facilitate monthly meetings and annual reviews.
• Provide leadership and mentoring; supervise staff involved with policy documents.
