Job summary

New York Technology Partners seeks an Executive Director of Platform Architecture to own the technical strategy across cloud, on-prem, networking, and observability. You will lead principal architects, drive enterprise-wide platform standards, and shape modernization and cloud adoption in a regulated environment.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Security, and Operations to ensure architectural decisions are executable, compliant, and scalable at enterprise scale.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or systems architecture, with at least 3 years in a people leadership or team lead role.
• Demonstrated experience defining and governing infrastructure architecture standards across multiple domains at organizational scale.
• Broad, hands-on knowledge across cloud (AWS), on-premises data center, networking, compute, storage, and container platforms.
• Deep experience with AWS architecture (VPCs, EC2, EKS, MSK, S3, IAM, KMS, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, CloudWatch).
• Strong Kubernetes knowledge (cluster architecture, multi-tenancy, CNI, scale).
• Experience with Apache Kafka as enterprise streaming infrastructure.
• GitOps and IaC programs (Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, Flux, or equivalent).
• Hybrid/on-prem/cloud connectivity design (networking, routing, firewalling, security zoning).
• Ability to lead through influence and translate decisions for engineering teams.
• Strong executive-level communication about platform strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and set direction for a team of principal architects across cloud, on-prem, networking, compute, storage, and observability.
• Own the Platform Architecture vision and ensure resilience is the default.
• Govern platform standards and drive enterprise-wide alignment via ARB and design reviews.
• Shape infrastructure modernization and cloud strategy across AWS adoption and hybrid connectivity.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Security, Operations, and Governance to align architecture with regulatory obligations.
• Establish observability standards and disaster recovery capabilities across domains.
