Job summary

PSI is seeking a skilled procurement leader to manage raw materials and indirect purchases for facilities in the USA. The role focuses on cost-effective sourcing, supply continuity, and alignment with operational objectives.

The ideal candidate has plastics/chemical industry experience, deep supplier management skills, and a track record of driving cost savings and supplier performance improvements. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of procurement experience in plastics or chemicals.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred.
• Strong supplier management and strategic sourcing skills.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 BC and Power BI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing requirements for our client’s facilities in the USA.
• Maintain detailed purchase records and vendor data including specs, pricing history, performance, and contracts.
• Conduct market analysis to identify trends, cost drivers, and tech shifts within the supply base.
• Lead supplier selection, quotation processes, total cost of ownership analysis, and contract negotiations.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through visits, audits, and performance evaluations.
• Develop commodity strategies to maximize purchasing leverage, continuity of supply, and cost efficiency.
• Support material budget planning, cost forecasting, and KPIs.
• Lead supplier negotiations, cost reduction workshops, and corrective action processes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to mitigate supply risk and drive supplier performance improvements.
