Abbott Park, IL is seeking a procurement leader to drive the plastics category strategy across North America and global sites, lead supplier identification and RFIs/RFPs, and push cost-saving and value engineering initiatives in collaboration with engineering and operations.

You will monitor market trends, ensure quality and sustainability compliance, manage supplier performance, and support contracts, statements of work, and SOPs to sustain seamless procurement operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years in procurement or supply chain, plastics/packaging preferred.
• Strong skills in supplier negotiations, contracting, and relationships.
• Experience with AI tools, digital procurement platforms, and sustainability initiatives.
• Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, Access, and data analytics.

• Execute the plastics category strategy across North America and global sites.
• Lead supplier identification, evaluation, and selection processes.
• Manage competitive bidding events (RFIs, RFPs) and lead fact-based negotiations.
• Drive cost savings opportunities and value engineering initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to align specifications with business needs.
• Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and sustainability requirements.
• Improve supplier performance and mitigate risk.
• Support contracts, statements of work, and standard operating procedures.
