Henkels & McCoy West is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to lead the West Region's Technical Solutions Group. You will drive engineering, planning, design, estimating, and consulting services for electric, gas, and communications utilities across the western United States.

You will oversee multi-disciplinary teams, manage budgets, develop strategic client relationships, and help position the firm for long-term success through effective project execution and growth initiatives.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, engineering technology, business, construction management, or related field.
• 10+ years of utility industry experience in engineering, planning, design, technical services, estimating, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical, engineering, planning, or design teams.
• Strong understanding of utility engineering, transmission and distribution systems, construction practices, project execution, and contract administration.
• Demonstrated experience managing budgets, resources, workforce planning, and operational performance.
• Proven success in customer relationship management and business development.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the region as required.

Aufgaben

• Develop and execute short- and long-term business plans aligned with regional and corporate objectives.
• Direct and oversee engineering, planning, design, estimating, and technical consulting services across utility infrastructure projects.
• Manage multiple technical disciplines with emphasis on electric transmission and distribution systems.
• Provide senior-level technical guidance, project oversight, and risk management support.
• Support project teams through planning, execution, resource allocation, issue resolution, and stakeholder coordination.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with utility clients, municipalities, engineering firms, contractors, and business partners.
• Lead or support proposal development, bid responses, and opportunity capture efforts for large and complex projects.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within electric, gas, and communications utility markets.
• Serve as a senior client contact and trusted advisor to support customer satisfaction and account growth.
• Establish, monitor, and report key performance metrics for operational, financial, and project performance.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets, forecasting, utilization targets, and profitability goals.
• Coordinate project reviews and ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual commitments.
