Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Strategic Planning Analyst to support multi-year planning and short-term initiatives across Duke Health units. You will drive projects, analyze data, and deliver final reports under the Director and AVP guidance.

Responsibilities include developing strategic and operational plans, conducting market and financial analyses, coordinating with leadership, and ensuring alignment between strategy and operations. A strong communicator with project management skills is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
• Five years of related business or administrative experience in hospital or group practice operations, management, planning, managed care contracting or project management.
• A master's degree may substitute for two years' experience.
• Strong collaboration and leadership, planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to work in a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Organize and support planning efforts for Duke Health business units or system-wide initiatives.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop multi-year strategic plans and annual work plans with goals, data analysis, volume targets, and measures of success.
• Develop strategic plans, operational plans and/or business plans needed to achieve organizational goals with a focus on growth.
• Conduct analysis to identify and recommend new program development and business opportunities.
• Conduct structured analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to generate insights informing decision-making for service lines, departments, and markets.
• Collect and analyze financial, clinical, and market data in collaboration with leadership across several departments.
• Monitor trends to identify opportunities and threats for Duke Health and its business units.
• Develop and manage project plans and provide updates to leaders while flagging barriers.
• Assess PM needs and recommend tools and processes to manage requests and deadlines.
• Maintain relationships across the system to ensure alignment between strategy, planning, and operations.
• Support the development and maintenance of planning data sources, tools, and reports.
