Job summary

Leonardo DRS in Germantown, MD is seeking a Manager, Planning to lead the planning function for critical aerospace and defense programs. You will guide production planning, requisition release, inventory optimization, and shop order execution.

This strategic, hands-on leadership role requires coordinating across manufacturing, engineering, program management, supply chain, and finance to balance commitments and risks while building a high-performing planning team.

Qualifications

• BS in supply chain management, engineering, business, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in high-technology aerospace/defense manufacturing
• Experience leading complex supply-chain and production-planning activities in aerospace/defense
• Strong knowledge of supply-chain tools, processes, and best practices
• Experience with lifecycle management including NPI, supplier selection, subcontracting, risk management, obsolescence planning

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of planners and coordinators for daily planning and material-release activities
• Ensure timely release of requisitions and manage production planning and shop order release
• Optimize inventory levels to support on-time delivery while managing working capital
• Set departmental goals and performance expectations aligned with business objectives
• Support make/buy decisions and replenishment processes including supplier-managed inventory
• Collaborate across functions to resolve constraints and maintain program execution
• Help develop material spend plans and support EAC performance
• Identify material, inventory, and capital requirements for programs
• Lead process-improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve planning efficiency
• Apply risk-management across the product lifecycle from NPI to obsolescence
• Promote Leonardo DRS values and commitment to customer success
