Job summary

Brevard County's Planning and Development Department seeks an experienced professional to provide technical and administrative support for advisory boards. The role handles processing applications for rezoning, CUPs, BDP amendments, and SSCPAs, and coordinates meeting schedules and agendas.

The position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to interact with the public, prepare minutes, and support staff while working a standard M-F schedule in Viera; some evenings may be required

Qualifications

• Six years of progressive technical/administrative support experience, incl. two years explaining laws and regulations for government.
• Experience explaining and interpreting laws, codes, and regulations for a governmental entity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process applications for rezoning, CUPs, BDP amendments, and SSCPAs.
• Coordinate annual meeting schedules and agenda due dates for advisory boards.
• Prepare agendas for LPA, County Commission Zoning meetings, BOA, BCAC, PSJ Dependent Special District Board meetings, NMI and other boards.
• Respond to inquiries from the public, take minutes, and provide technical support to Planning & Development staff.

Education

Two years of college coursework in Legal Studies, Public Administration, Business Administration, Organizational Management, or a closely related field
