Job summary

San Bernardino County Land Use Services seeks a Planning Analyst to support the Current Planning Team with complex planning, research, data analysis, and policy support for development review and departmental activities.

The role involves leading or coordinating special projects, collecting and presenting data, drafting policies, initiating process improvements, and providing trainings to staff. A Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, Geography, Environmental Policy or a related field.
• Two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional level experience in urban planning, analytical duties, special projects coordination, data/statistical analysis or reporting.
• Degrees earned outside the United States must be accompanied by evaluation for U.S. equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Support the Current Planning Team with data analysis, research, and reporting for development review and departmental activities.
• Lead or coordinate special projects and studies as assigned, including data collection, analysis and presentation.
• Write new policies, initiate process improvements, update and track program compliance, and provide staff trainings as requested.
