Job summary

CALIBRE Systems, Inc. is seeking an on-site analyst to support the National Guard Bureau J8 in Arlington, VA, with limited telework. This full-time role focuses on strategic planning, analysis, and briefings for senior leaders.

The candidate will review strategic documents, assist in wargaming efforts, and develop reports and correspondence. A TS clearance, US citizenship, and excellent analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support NGB J8 engagement in reviewing and developing strategic documents, plans, GFM products, concepts, wargames, and analysis; assess equities and implications for National Guard forces, capabilities, and resourcing.
• Assist in assessing issues, providing timely information, and developing recommendations for NGB leaders in senior forums.
• Support staffing actions via ETMS2 and develop final NGB senior leader correspondence and written military advice.
• Collaborate with staff across NGB JS and DoW to maintain relationships and anticipate NGB mission requirements.

CALIBRE is an employee-owned mission focused solutions and digital transformation company, is seeking an individual who will support missions of the National Guard Bureau (NGB) J8. The analyst will possess expertise with the documents and processes encompassed by the Joint Strategic Planning System (JSPS), to include the review and development of strategic documents, review of plans, global force management (GFM), and Joint Force Design, Development and Experimentation. Experience within the strategic analysis community of interest also highly preferred. The analyst will participate in analysis and formulation of advice and assist in preparation and presentation of reports, briefings, and project deliverables. This is an on-site position, with opportunity for limited situational telework. Work to be performed at the Pentagon, or alternatively, the Herbert R. Temple Army Readiness Center in Arlington, VA.

Tasks Include

• Support NGB J8 engagement and participation in the review and development of strategic documents, plans, GFM products, concepts, wargames, and analysis. Assess equities and implications for the National Guard forces, capabilities, and resourcing.
• Assist in assessing issues, providing timely information, and developing recommendations for NGB leaders in support of their participation in senior leader forums.
• Support developing and responding to formal staffing actions via ETMS2. Assist in developing, staffing, and finalizing NGB senior leader correspondence and written military advice.
• Collaborate with staff across the NGB JS and Department of War to develop or maintain relationships that aid in situational awareness and knowledge of NGB missions and anticipate requirements in support of NGB senior leaders.

Required Skills

• Current Top Secret clearance and eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
• Must possess proven analytical and strong organizational skills
• Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task across concurrent initiatives
• Exceptional verbal and written communication and organization skills
• Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (e.g., SharePoint, MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint., etc.).
• Must be able to travel

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in DOW tasking systems (e.g. CATMS, ETMS2)

Required Experience

• 4 – 6 years of experience working within the senior defense organizations (Services, Combatant Commands, Reserve Components, Joint Staff, National Guard Bureau Joint Staff, or Office of the Secretary of War) supporting engagements and development of documents related to processes in the job description. Joint experience a plus.
• Experience working with the State NG-JFHQs, NGB ARNG, NGB ANG and NGB JS preferred.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school by a national or regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Master’s Degree preferred.
• Graduate of CGSC or ILE if former military officer, commensurate Professional Military Education if former military Warrant, Enlisted or Civil Service.
