Job summary

American College of Healthcare Executives seeks an Assistant Chief Medical Officer to assist the CMO on provider quality, patient safety, occupational medicine, and provider performance issues. Focus includes building a physician leadership network within Urgent Care Service Line to advance the clinical agenda and earn provider trust.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO with active medical license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience providing medical oversight of an occupational medicine program.
  • Previous experience as a Chief Medical Officer or Medical Director in a complex healthcare system or urgent care setting preferred.
  • MBA or equivalent leadership/management experience required in urgent care or hospital operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and management of physician/provider infrastructure across the Urgent Care Service Line.
  • Provide physician leadership related to clinical quality, patient safety, provider outcomes, EMR, and emerging medical technologies.
  • Partner with senior clinical and operational leaders to develop and execute short- and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Identify performance trends and opportunities and implement strategies to improve quality, efficiency, patient experience, and business performance.
  • Develop and strengthen physician leadership, provider engagement, recruitment, and retention.
  • Partner with Occupational Services leadership to develop and oversee an evidence-based occupational medicine program, including physician education and regulatory compliance.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and represent Urgent Care leadership at designated meetings and initiatives.
  • Support business development, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, collaboration, and integrity.
