Job summary

The Cedars in Portland, ME is seeking an accomplished leader to serve as Chief Advancement and Board Relations Officer, responsible for developing a comprehensive fundraising strategy and cultivating major gifts. You will work closely with the President/CEO and the Board to expand philanthropy across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of progressive fundraising leadership, including Planned Giving and Capital Campaigns, and a proven ability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or CFRE preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership in fundraising, ideally in healthcare, older adult services, or nonprofit sectors with emphasis on Planned Giving, Major Gifts, and Capital Campaigns.
• Proven ability to close Major Gifts and secure complex Planned Gifts and manage successful campaigns.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication and strategic planning skills.
• Experience working with governing boards and volunteer leaders.
• Familiarity with Jewish Philanthropy community and shared values.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a comprehensive development strategy aligned with priorities and growth plans.
• Design a Planned Giving Program.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, endowment, and planned giving prospects.
• Partner with the President/CEO and Board to strengthen donor relationships and foster a culture of philanthropy.
• Provide strategic leadership for donor communications and stewardship for impactful engagement.
• Represent the organization at community and donor events to enhance visibility and engagement.
