Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in pharmacy or PharmD with 5 years of pharmacy experience, including hospital setting.
• Management experience preferred.
• PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Alabama Upon Hire Required.
• CSRC - Controlled Substance Registration Certificate Upon Hire Required.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist director in 24-hour operation of hospital pharmacy.
• Utilize resources to assure effective department performance.
• Staffing levels and skill mix to support departmental functions.
• Assist director in personnel functions (recruitment, hiring, disciplinary actions, evaluations, counseling, education).
• Monitor staff performance and communicate progress to Pharmacy Director.
• Provide staff training and ensure competency.
• Abide by USP 797/800 standards and ensure compliance with policies.
• Evaluate pharmacy workflow and devise efficiency strategies.
• Initiate quality improvement projects in the pharmacy.
• Oversee narcotics procurement and regulatory records.
• Assign work and supervise daily activities to meet deadlines.
• Ensure inventory sufficiency with Pharmacy Purchaser.
• Coach andMentor staff; act as professional role model.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor.
• Exercise sound judgement under pressure.
• Proficient with automation and EMR systems.
