Job summary

University of Missouri Health Care is seeking a Pharmacy Buyer to optimize procurement, inventory, and cost-saving initiatives. The role focuses on efficient purchasing, contract compliance, and collaboration with vendors and internal teams to ensure medication availability.

Ideal candidates will have pharmacy technician experience, MO licensure, and relevant certifications. This position emphasizes accountability, adaptability, and strong vendor relationships within a fast-paced healthcare

Qualifications

• Experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmaceutical or medical supply purchasing agent.
• Pharmacy Technician licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
• CPhT or ExCPT certification within one year as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement savings initiatives for drug procurement and waste reduction.
• Manage procurement and distribution of pharmaceuticals per GPO and vendor contracts.
• Coordinate annual and monthly inventory reviews and 340B account management.
• Monitor stock levels, remove expired stock, and coordinate returns for reimbursement.
• Communicate with management, co-workers, and vendors to optimize pharmaceutical accounts.
