Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Pharmacy Strategist to manage formulary and utilization management programs in a hybrid setting. The role supports evidence-based medicine, collaborates with internal teams and external partners, and develops educational initiatives for physicians, clients, and members.

The position requires a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, licensed pharmacist, and 5+ years in pharmacy with a focus on managed care.

Qualifications

• 5 years of related, progressive experience in the pharmacy area of specialization or PGY-1 residency plus 2 years of experience.
• Progressive experience in pharmacy strategy, formulary administration, or related programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead formulary and UM strategy development to support savings goals.
• Develop and implement utilization management programs (prior authorization, dose edits, quantity limits).
• Ensure regulatory compliance and participate in audits.
• Collaborate with analytics and vendors to generate real-world evidence.
• Mentor junior team members and coordinate cross-functional initiatives.
• Present recommendations to leadership.
