Job summary

Jefferson County's Department of Community Development seeks an experienced Building Permit & Administrative Services Manager in Port Townsend, WA. This role leads permitting workflows, collaborates with county leadership, and resolves complex customer issues to ensure excellent public service.

The role oversees staff, budgets, and permitting operations while developing policies and working with partner agencies to strengthen operations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in business administration or public sector management.
• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance, or a closely related field, and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in business administration or public-sector management.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates progressively responsible experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administrative and operational functions of the department.
• Supervise staff, manage budgets, and coordinate permitting operations.
• Develop policies and procedures; collaborate with county departments and partners to deliver public service.
• Lead a diverse team and foster a collaborative workplace.
