Job summary

ADP, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Specialist to compute and record earnings for company employees using the company’s system.

The role covers bi-weekly payroll for ~300 employees and payroll for ~100 contract workers, ensuring timely and accurate processing in collaboration with HR, accounting, and operations. The incumbent will reconcile hours, maintain payroll records, validate HR changes affecting wages, and produce management reports.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, regulations and procedures.
• Must have advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and other MS Suite.
• Must be able to quickly grasp payroll and time & attendance software applications.
• Skill in evaluating and analyzing technical payroll activities.
• Skill in both verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
• Has worked with ADP software.
• Skill in performing detailed computations.

Responsibilities

• Compiles payroll data, hours worked, taxes, insurance, and deductions to be withheld.
• Reconcile the time and attendance clock to the billing clock.
• Posts wages and maintains all payroll records.
• Ensure accuracy of payroll and executes correction entries where needed, keeping accurate records of rectifications.
• Researches, analyzes and resolves any payroll questions presented by employees, managers, or outside agency representatives.
• Manages and works closely with outside payroll services provider(s) to ensure timely and accurate processing of deliverables.
• Help HR department roll out new benefits, and maintain the schedules.
• Validates changes made by HR department affecting wages, such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records.
• Prepares periodic reports for management and President’s review.
• Support the VP Finance & Administration with other business activities as needed.
• Endeavor to be a positive example at all times; through professional behavior, integrity, commitment to the company and compliance with its policies.
• It is not uncommon for hourly employees to forget to clock in/out; work with respective managers to resolve such issues.
