Job summary

Barrett Business Services, Inc. (BBSI) is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage payrolls for 60-80 clients with varied cycles and complexities. You will learn client systems, provide training, and collaborate with the team to optimize processes.

The role emphasizes strong business sense, entrepreneurial spirit, and delivering value to clients and internal teams. Travel within 50 miles is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of payroll experience in a multi-client environment.
• Strong client service orientation and communication skills.
• Experience with process improvement and workflow optimization.
• Associate’s degree preferred; CPP or FPC designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run high-volume, accurate payrolls for 800+ employees across multiple clients.
• Onboard new clients and optimize use of payroll, CRM, timekeeping and HRIS.
• Perform on-site payroll training and web training for clients.
• Analyze client data (turnover, headcount, time & attendance) to drive improvements.
