TradesFutures in Washington, DC, seeks a Director of Partnerships and Policy to lead external partnership and policy strategy and serve as a principal external voice with unions, employers, funders, and policymakers.

The role combines strategy development with implementation: crafting a partnership portfolio, translating research into clear guidance for funders, the Board, media, and the public, and, if needed, managing staff to execute initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in partnerships or policy.
• Proven portfolio of external-facing policy or thought-leadership work.
• Experience representing an organization credibly with senior stakeholders.
• Experience directly managing or mentoring staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Set and lead external engagement and policy strategy with the Executive Director and leadership.
• Develop external positioning on priorities, including briefings and public statements.
• Build and manage the external engagement and partnership portfolio with unions, employers, funders, and government stakeholders.
• Represent TradesFutures as a spokesperson in settings with unions, employers, and policy stakeholders.
• Direct research on industry trends that shape program strategy and standards.
• Guide and develop staff as necessary.
