Job summary

The University of Colorado Boulder seeks a Director of Strategy and Partnerships to lead LASP's strategic vision and major partnerships. The role oversees capture and proposal activities across government, industry, philanthropy, and international sectors, reporting to LASP's Director.

As a senior leader, you’ll guide strategic priorities, build important partnerships, and ensure competitive proposals are submitted to support the lab’s science and technology goals.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (e.g. Master’s) or Bachelor’s plus minimum of 5 years experience in a relevant discipline of engineering or science.
• Ability to lead and define new directions in science, engineering, and mission opportunities.
• Program/project management experience in a research or science mission capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex organizational relationships and drive alignment across diverse teams without direct authority.
• Knowledge of government, commercial, philanthropic, and international space research goals, objectives, and opportunities.
• Deep familiarity with federal proposal and procurement processes, including experience with NASA, NOAA, NSF, DoD, or comparable agencies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development of short- and long-term strategic priorities and plans spanning LASP’s science and technology teams.
• Identify new opportunities across academic, government, commercial, and international sectors for expansion into large mission concepts and instrument lines.
• Cultivate partnerships with NASA, NOAA, government, industry, foundations, and philanthropies with a robust partner management system.
• Lead a team of proposal and capture managers to grow the number and quality of submitted proposals.
• Oversee the submission of large proposals and conduct internal reviews to ensure proposal excellence.
• Manage the LASP Strategy and Partnerships Committee for opportunity dissemination and internal support.
• Ensure resources, sequencing, and tracking of strategy and partnerships initiatives.
