Job summary

Cornell University in Ithaca, NY is seeking an External Relations Officer III to advance the college's external engagement strategy. You will support and expand relationships with corporate partners, align partnerships with research and talent development priorities, and coordinate cross-functional activities with faculty and university units.

The role emphasizes collaboration, proposal development, and event management within a dynamic team, with a hybrid remote option and a base pay range

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience or equivalent in business development, corporate outreach, public relations, or similar area.
• Strong group facilitation, organization, and project management skills.
• Experience in proactively developing corporate/university partnerships and communicating technical, scientific, and educational activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to engage corporate partners with Cornell Duffield Engineering.
• Coordinate meetings between faculty and external corporate contacts.
• Research corporate trends and opportunities aligned with faculty strengths.
• Maintain CRM records and prepare materials for partner meetings.
• Support cross-functional partnerships across research, innovation, and career functions.
• Collaborate with University Foundation Relations and other units in Alumni Affairs and Development and Innovation strategy.
• Help manage events, campus visits, and communications showcasing engagement opportunities.
