Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead and support client engagements in outsourced accounting environments. You will manage month-end close, PM approvals, payroll filings, and internal controls while communicating results to non-finance stakeholders.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, with CPA preferred or MBA equivalent. Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Clio is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• CPA preferred and/or MBA equivalent.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience in outsourced accounting, advisory, public accounting, or consulting.
• Strong time-management and communication skills.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Clio, and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of professionals; assign work, review deliverables, and support development through coaching and feedback
• Oversee accounts payable workflows, including vendor and contractor payment review and approval
• Review and approve payroll processing and related filings with client HR/payroll providers
• Lead month-end close, including journal entry review, timely reconciliations, and accurate general ledger maintenance
• Review and approve proposed revenue, payroll, accrual, and reclassification journal entries
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances across key accounts
• Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and performance analytics
• Help clients translate financial results into actionable operational decisions
• Partner with client leadership as the day-to-day point of contact
• Communicate status, risks, and recommendations proactively
• Coordinate external reviews and annual financial statement audits
• Manage auditor requests and support timely deliverables
• Evaluate and strengthen internal controls
• Streamline close and reporting processes and implement best practices across AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger activities

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
