Job summary

MITRE’s Critical Infrastructure Protection Department (L561) is seeking an Operational Technology (OT) Adversary Emulation Strategy and Execution Lead to define the long‑term vision and roadmap for Caldera for OT.

You will lead a team of software developers and OT engineers, expanding adoption with sponsors, government, and the open‑source community, translating threat intelligence into protocol‑level emulation capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience: 8+ years with a Bachelor's; 6 years with a Master; or 3 years with a PhD; or equivalent.
• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related technical field.
• Strategic Leadership & Business Acumen: Demonstrated track record of leading technical capabilities, shaping sponsor/customer work, growing adoption for platforms/tools, and managing task budgets and small multi-disciplinary teams.
• OT & Control Systems Depth: Knowledge of OT, ICS, SCADA, and cyber-physical architectures; ability to evaluate protocol-level emulation.
• Software Development Oversight: Experience supervising technical teams or software developers; prioritizing feature backlogs and evaluating deliverables.
• Threat-Informed Defense Familiarity: Knowledge of ATT&CK for IC or automated adversary emulation frameworks.
• Clearance: Eligible for Top Secret/SCI; U.S. citizen.
• On-Site Requirement: 3 days on-site; 60% on-site in NCR.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategic roadmap and adoption strategy for Caldera for OT.
• Expand platform reach across government sponsors and industry.
• Lead developers and OT engineers translating threat intel into emulation capabilities.
• Manage task budgets, sponsorship relationships, and delivery quality.
• Serve as technical advocate and ambassador for OT adversary emulation.
• Collaborate with CTI leads to translate threats into software requirements.
