Reports to: Director of Strategic Operations

Team Description and Goals

The Strategic Operations Department supports Slingshot Operations in a variety of ways. The team works alongside different departments during their peak seasons, takes on special projects that promote business health, and trains and develops team members for growth opportunities, including specialized roles in the corporate office or managing university campus stores across the country.

Example Duties

• Work alongside other departments such as Course Materials Research Team, Procurement, Logistics, Print Hub, Customer Support, and Retail Operations throughout the year. For example, if assigned to Logistics for two weeks, participate in day‑to‑day tasks like pulling orders, shipping, and/or receiving books.
• Assist in initiatives and projects assigned by the Director of Strategic Operations, working in a variety of ways as needed.

Expectations

• Work hours vary; typically 40 hours per week over a year‑long period, with weekly hours ranging between 30–50 hours.
• Flexibility in tasks and humility in service.
• Opportunity for advancement by mastering basic tasks of each deployed department and acquiring intermediate and advanced knowledge.
• Remote work is the exception; expected to be in the office most days.

• Travel opportunities may arise, with up to 1 week required annually and up to 2 weeks volunteerable.
• Report to the Director of Strategic Operations while performing tasks assigned by the manager/director of the deployed department.
