Job summary

Montana State University invites applications for a Business Operations Manager within the Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing in Bozeman. The role bridges the Administration and Finance Office with the Research Office and oversees fiscal, HR, and administrative tasks to support college programs and faculty.

The successful candidate will manage stipends, travel, budgets, payroll reconciliation, procurement, and liaison with university offices to ensure compliant processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email; MS Office Suite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Submit various student stipends & scholarship disbursement and/or fellowship paperwork.
• Assistance with travel and expense reports for students, staff, and faculty.
• Update and maintain budget portfolio for encumbrances.
• Review and submit financial transactions for payment in compliance with budget/grant initiatives.
• Payroll reconciliation and salary spreadsheet maintenance for all MRJCON indexes.
• Assist with personnel hiring for research and programs under the college’s oversight."
• Complete personnel action forms related to MRJCON positions
• Complete summer session appointments for tenure-track faculty
• Complete Fiscal & Academic Year letters of appointment for professional and research faculty
• Update and submit incentive program for researcher forms
• Assist with the maintenance of the teaching assignment database (TAMS)
• Submit and/or approve Hospitality Approval Forms for accuracy and compliance
• Assist with the monthly Time and Effort reporting
