Job summary

Tulane University is seeking a Director of Strategic Operations and External Affairs in New Orleans, LA to serve as the operational leader and external ambassador for the Grant Center for the American Jewish Experience. This role coordinates center operations, strategic communications, and donor outreach to align with the Executive Director's priorities.

The position manages the center's budget, cultivates external relationships, ensures all workstreams meet objectives, and supports fundraising

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 5–7 years in higher education administration or nonprofit operations.
• Experience managing staff and multi-workstream operations.
• Experience drafting high-stakes external communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multi-functional team and oversee performance reviews.
• Oversee budget execution and restricted fund compliance.
• Serve as external ambassador to faculty, leadership, and partners.
• Direct strategic communications and donor outreach.
• Coordinate across functional areas and maintain organized communication.
• Work irregular hours for events.
