Job summary

The West Virginia Land Trust (WVLT) is seeking a full-time Director of Operations to lead administrative, financial, and HR functions from Morgantown or Charleston. The role reports to the Executive Director and sits on the senior management team, guiding strategic decision-making and operational excellence.

The DOO will oversee finance, HR, IT, and compliance, manage staff across locations, and support WVLT’s mission to preserve West Virginia’s special places.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with WVLT’s mission.
• Lead and manage the administrative team.
• Ensure legal, regulatory, grant and national accreditation compliance.
• Lead development and management of annual budgets and work plans.
• Provide financial analysis and reports to Executive Director and Board of Directors.
• Oversee HR policies, benefits and performance management.
