Job summary

vnbcareers is seeking an experienced Operational Risk Manager in Morristown, NJ to oversee firm-wide risk events and escalation processes for specified business lines. You will partner with department managers to identify risks, develop KRIs, and monitor mitigation efforts.

You will perform risk assessments, analyze findings for Executive Management, and prepare quarterly Board reports. A strong regulatory background and certifications will help drive best practices across the bank.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, risk management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of operational risk management experience in a financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee issue, action and operational risk event identification, escalation, and tracking for specific business lines.
• Lead and perform operational risk assessments for bank departments, including risk evaluation, documentation, and reporting to Executive Management.
• Partner with department managers to identify operational risks, develop and refine KRIs, and support ongoing risk monitoring and mitigation.
• Assist Risk Management on significant risk related projects, initiatives and special risk assessments.
• Prepare and produce quarterly Board level operational risk reports, benchmarking against peer institutions.
• Stay current on regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and emerging risks by participating in professional associations and training.
