Job summary

Adept Life Sciences Chandler, Arizona, United States is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement for our nutraceutical manufacturing operations. This role owns sourcing of raw materials, actives, packaging, and components to keep production running on schedule and within budget.

You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure documentation such as CoA and CoC meets our quality standards while maintaining strong cost controls and supply continuity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years purchasing in nutraceutical manufacturing.
• Knowledge of CoA, specifications, and supplier qualification.
• Familiarity with cGMP for dietary supplements (21 CFR Part 111).
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Excel.
• Strong negotiation and vendor-management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with multi-order management.
• High school diploma; Bachelor's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Purchase end-to-end raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and labeling components for supplement manufacturing.
• Source, qualify, and maintain supplier base; negotiate pricing and terms to optimize total cost of ownership.
• Issue POs, track deliveries, resolve shortages and discrepancies.
• Ensure materials meet specifications with CoA, CoC, allergen and non-GMO statements.
• Maintain inventory levels with MRP/ERP; set reorder points and min/max levels.
• Collaborate with Production, Planning, R&D, and Formulation on demand forecasting and launches.
• Monitor markets and identify backup suppliers to safeguard supply.
• Support supplier audits, onboarding, and performance management using KPIs.
• Ensure purchasing complies with FDA 21 CFR Part 111, FSMA, and quality policies.
• Identify cost-savings and consolidation initiatives; report savings to leadership.
