Job summary

Savannah River National Laboratory in Aiken, SC seeks a proven nuclear safety leader to serve as the institutional authority for nuclear safety programs. You will sit at the leadership table, advise senior executives, and be the primary voice to DOE/NNSA on nuclear safety matters, shaping SRNL's ability to execute high-consequence missions.

This role requires deep expertise in safety basis, criticality safety, and readiness & startup, with a track record of leading high-hazard teams in regulated

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of DOE nuclear facility operations or nuclear safety experience.
• Experience supporting DOE/NNSA oversight and regulatory interactions.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for nuclear safety across SRNL.
• Advise senior leadership on nuclear safety risk posture and readiness.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of nuclear safety analysts, criticality engineers, and readiness professionals.
• Establish high technical standards and expectations for analytical rigor.
