Job summary

JCC Association of North America is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations and financial reporting in our New York City headquarters. You will partner with the CFAO, shape financial infrastructure, and ensure compliance with nonprofit GAAP and funder requirements.

The Controller will manage a three-person team, oversee the annual audit, and drive process improvements across programs and grants in a growing nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 7–10 years of accounting experience with 2+ years in a supervisory or controller role.
• Strong nonprofit fund accounting, GAAP, and FASB standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, cash management, and reconciliations.
• Lead month‑end/year‑end close and improve speed/accuracy as the org grows.
• Manage grant and restricted fund reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
