Job summary

CLA is hiring an Audit & Assurance Senior to join CLA Northeast’s Nonprofit team. This in-office role can be based in West Hartford, Shelton, Livingston, or Woodcliff Lake, NJ.

You will lead nonprofit audit engagements, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality financial statements and disclosures. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Accounting and 2+ years in public accounting with audits and financial statement work.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of public accounting experience with emphasis in financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations is required.
• Current CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute and manage day-to-day activities of audit engagements for nonprofit clients from start to finish, including budget, planning, fieldwork, staff supervision, and financial statements with disclosures.
• Review client accounting and operating procedures.
• Develop and assess the design and implementation of internal controls.
• Prepare financial statements and related disclosures and reportable condition letters.
• Communicate technical matters clearly with staff, management, and clients.
