Job summary

The City of Garland is seeking a Financial & Grants Analyst to support financial analysis, grant administration, and budgeting for city programs. The role requires attention to detail and strong communication with staff and the public.

You will review financial documents, assist with underwriting on housing and development programs, reconcile records, and help prepare reports for management. A Bachelor's degree and 1–3 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years in accounting, banking, underwriting, budgeting, or grant administration.
• Municipal accounting or grant experience preferred but not required.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Review financial statements, tax returns, bank statements, budgets, invoices, and other financial records.
• Assist with underwriting for City loan, housing, rehabilitation, development, and assistance programs.
• Review applicant and borrower financial information for completeness, accuracy, and program eligibility.
• Prepare worksheets, financial summaries, and supporting documentation for management review.
• Review invoices, payment requests, purchase orders, reimbursements, and other financial transactions for accuracy.
