Job summary

AVT Simulation is seeking a Manufacturing, Production and Procurement Buyer in the United States. The role focuses on sourcing COTS and non-COTS parts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery at the right cost.

You will oversee PO creation, track orders, and handle RMAs from issue to closure, while aligning with quality and program requirements. The successful candidate will leverage Costpoint ERP and MS Excel, read engineering drawings, and drive supplier qualification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to understand capabilities, capacity, lead times, quality and cost.
• Source and purchase COTS and non-COTS components based on requirements; issue purchase orders.
• Review drawings and specifications to determine purchasing needs and ensure accurate PO details.
• Lead supplier selection and qualification activities; evaluate quotes and negotiate pricing and delivery.
• Track POs from placement to receipt and manage RMAs through resolution.
• Collaborate with accounting/finance to resolve documentation and classification issues.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve supplier reliability.
• Report KPIs to leadership.
