Job summary

AVT Simulation in New York seeks a Manufacturing, Production and Procurement Planner to coordinate procurement and production needs, analyze MRP messages, and drive on-time delivery while aligning with cross-functional teams.

You will review MBOMs, manage manufacturing orders, implement stopgap solutions, monitor material availability and report KPIs to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or related field.
• Costpoint ERP familiarity and strong MS Excel skills are a plus.
• Understanding of MRP concepts including BOMs and demand.
• CPIM, CSCP or CPSM certifications are strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Analyze MRP messages and manage planning exceptions.
• Investigate root causes of material and schedule issues and determine corrective actions.
• Review demand, supply, inventory, POs, work orders and lead times to identify constraints.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering and cross-functional teams to resolve material issues.
• Develop stopgap solutions to mitigate shortages and minimize impacts on schedules.
• Monitor material availability and identify risks before they affect production or commitments.
• Communicate schedule impacts and recovery plans to Program Managers and stakeholders.
• Maintain planning data and ensure MRP actions are completed timely.
• Investigate material shifts caused by engineering changes and MBOM/routing discrepancies.
• Manage Manufacturing Orders through their lifecycle and communicate Engineering Change Notices.
• Track open issues and elevate risks as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve planning processes and supply chain performance.
• Report KPIs to leadership.

Job Summary

Manufacturing, Production and Procurement (MPP) Planner, this individual is responsible for the Planning of all procurement and production needs. This position will be responsible for the analysis and management of select programs to ensure on-time customer delivery while communicating and mitigating stopgaps between various internal teams.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

1. Analyze, investigate, and action MRP messages, including shortages, rescheduling, cancellations, order changes, and other planning exceptions.
2. Investigate root causes of material and schedule issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
3. Review demand, supply, inventory, purchase orders, work orders, and lead time to identify potential constraints.
4. Coordinate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to resolve material and production issues.
5. Develop and implement stopgap solutions to mitigate shortages and minimize impacts on program schedules.
6. Monitor material availability and proactively identify risks before they affect production or customer commitments.
7. Communicate schedule impacts, material risks, and recovery plans to Program Managers and relevant stakeholders.
8. Maintain accurate planning data and ensure MRP actions are completed in a timely manner.
9. Investigate and action material shifts caused by engineering changes before, during, and after production.
10. Analyze Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs) and Manufacturing Routings to identify any discrepancies.
11. Manage Manufacturing Orders throughout their lifecycle assuring Engineering Change Notices are accurately communicated to Production.
12. Track open issues through resolution and elevate risks or constraints when appropriate.
13. Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, MRP execution, and overall supply chain performance.
14. Report regularly on KPIs to leadership.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or a related field. Substitutions -- Educational requirements can be substituted by years of experience in a Planner, Materials Planner, Supply Chain Manager, or similar role by hiring level:
  1. 1-4 years
  2. 5-10 years
  3. 11-16 years
  4. 17-25 years

• Must be extremely computer literate and agile, strong Costpoint ERP and MS Excel skills is a plus.
• Working knowledge of MRP systems.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering drawings.
• In-depth understanding of MRP concepts including bills of material and demand.
• CPIM, CSCP, or CPSM certifications are strongly desired.
• Must enjoy team collaboration and networking for problem resolution.
• Must be detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.
