Job summary

Leidos Defense seeks a strategic Modeling and Simulation Lead to develop a tactical roadmap, build an in-house simulations and performance analysis team, and ensure delivery of advanced M&S solutions supporting design, analysis and verification.

The role collaborates with cross-functional engineering teams, program management, and external stakeholders to meet objectives, budget, and customer requirements, with leadership responsibility for staffing and communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field with 8+ years of experience or 6+ years with MS degree.
• 5+ years of experience in modeling and simulation for complex defense or aerospace systems.
• Experience with planning, schedule development, budget estimation, and team-building.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create a strategic tactical performance roadmap for the IFPC Inc 2 Launcher Program.
• Develop a plan for establishing an in-house simulations and performance analysis team with schedule and budget.
• Lead staffing, onboarding, and development of the performance analysis team.
• Oversee development, integration, and application of M&S for system performance and trade studies.
• Ensure M&S products align with goals, requirements, and customer expectations.
• Collaborate with engineering, program management, and external stakeholders for effective communication.
• Provide leadership in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for M&S tasks.
• Present technical information and strategic plans to senior leadership and customers.
