Job summary

Fieldpiece Instruments, Inc. is seeking an experienced Principal Mobile Engineer to own the architecture of our native iOS apps and guide the mobile platform as our first in-house mobile hire.

You will write production-grade code, solve complex challenges with Bluetooth/BLE-enabled tools, and influence architectural direction across embedded, cloud, product, and UX teams. This hybrid role requires leadership, hands-on coding, and collaboration with partners to build scalable connected-product

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with hands-on iOS development.
• Strong Swift and native iOS development experience for production-grade apps.
• Experience architecting mobile applications and leading significant technical design decisions.
• Experience with Bluetooth/BLE devices, sensors, IoT, or connected hardware.
• Ability to influence engineering decisions across teams while remaining hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical direction of native iOS applications.
• Design, develop, and optimize mobile apps that connect with Bluetooth/BLE-enabled tools, sensors, and cloud services.
• Write production-quality code and solve connectivity, performance, reliability, and scalability challenges.
• Establish in-house mobile engineering standards, testing, and best practices.
• Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to deliver seamless connected-product experiences.
