Job summary

Citizenship and Immigration Services is seeking a Mission Support Specialist to perform a broad range of administrative and management tasks, along with technical and analytical duties, for the Asylum Office. The role supports liaison activities and special assignments integral to the office's mission.

Qualified candidates may have GS-9 level experience or higher, with options to substitute education for experience.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience at GS-07 level or equivalent.
• Experience collecting information for reporting purposes.
• Representing the office with internal or external parties to resolve discrepancies.
• Preparing and delivering studies, reports, or briefings to managers.
• Education substitutions for experience include Master's, JD, or LLM where applicable.
• GS-11/GS-12 levels involve policy implementation, project management, and workload analysis.

Responsibilities

• Collect information for reporting and decision making.
• Represent the office to internal/external parties to resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and deliver studies, reports, or briefings to managers.
• Assist in policy creation, procedures, or new processes.
• Manage projects or cases affecting team or program.
• Apply new legislation, regulations, or policies to programs.

Education

Master's degree or 2 years of graduate study

J.D. or LL.B. degree

Doctoral degree (PhD) or 3 years of relevant graduate study

LL.M. degree (related field)
