Job summary

NESL seeks a Mining Planning Engineer/Geologist to lead mine planning, resource evaluation, and operational optimization across projects. You will collaborate with operations, environmental, and finance teams to deliver data‑driven plans that support safe, compliant extraction.

The role emphasizes experience with Micromine, Carlson, and AutoCAD, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to varied audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressive mining operations experience including mine planning and resource evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Lead mine planning and resource management using Micromine or similar software.
• Conduct reserve analysis, geologic modeling, and capital project evaluation.
• Enhance site mapping and geologic data systems for planning decisions.
• Coordinate with operations to align plans with production targets and constraints.
• Support reclamation asset retirement obligation estimation with environmental and finance teams.
• Monitor haulage, fleet performance, and blast practices to improve efficiency.
