Job summary

Stabilus in Gastonia, NC is seeking a Buyer to focus on purchasing metal for our production facilities. You will work with the Stabilus Purchasing teams to develop a reliable, price-competitive supply base, perform data gathering and benchmarking, and evaluate suppliers.

The role requires collaboration with Engineering and Quality, supplier qualification, and ongoing communication about delivery and quality issues. Some international travel up to 25% may be required; SAP experience is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or Supply Chain Management.
• 1-3 years in Purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with metals or raw materials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Locate, develop and set up new suppliers.
• Maintain supplier matrix with capabilities and contacts.
• Run supplier visits/audit plan and improvement plans.
• Prepare quotes and benchmarking analyses.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering and Logistics.
