Kansas Department of Health and Environment is seeking a Director, Medicaid Finance to lead the financial integrity and strategic direction of the Medicaid program. The role oversees a multi‑billion-dollar budget, ensures compliance with federal and state reporting, and manages payments and vendors.

You will supervise a team of 15–20 across budgeting, payments, and reporting functions and collaborate with Medicaid leadership.

Formación

• Education: High School, GED.
• Licensing & Certification: Valid Driver's License required.
• Minimum Qualifications: 4 years direct experience in accounting, finance, public administration, economics or a related field.
• At least 4-5 years of progressively responsible financial management experience, including team leadership.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex budgets, financial operations, or large-scale public or nonprofit programs.
• Exceptional analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical fiscal issues to non-technical audiences.
• Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
• Five years demonstrated experience managing complex budgets or financial operations.

Responsabilidades

• Direct and support a finance team responsible for budgeting, payments, and reporting.
• Oversee development of the Medicaid agency budget, including narrative justifications, caseload projections, rate assumptions and development, and scenario modeling.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of federally required reports, including CMS-37, CMS-64, cost allocation plans, waiver expenditure reports, and corrective action follow-ups.
